My grandmother loved hummingbirds my entire life, and I never truly appreciated their magic until I became an adult. Here you see two hummingbirds in a dark room, imagined to be in the middle of the ocean, with just a sprig of honeysuckle growing out of the concrete block. 

Hummingbirds must eat every 15 to 30 minutes as their metabolism burns fuel incredibly fast. I titled this painting “Endure”, because just like the hummingbird who is committed to survival no matter the circumstance, we are made of the same matter, and must endure the circumstances of today to get to the other side. 

Just like these hummingbirds who found food in the most unlikely of places, just like the resilience of Mother Nature, we too at this time in life must “Endure” to make it to the other side.
